25/06/2007 12:09 - (SA)
Durban - Police arrested two men moments after they and
their accomplices held up a butchery in Durban on Monday morning.
Superintendent Muzi Mngomezulu said no one was injured in
the armed robbery at Dirk's Meat Market in the Davenport shopping centre
in Durban's Glenwood suburb.
It was not immediately known how much money was taken or
how many accomplices there were. Mngomezulu said police believed there
were at least four men who managed to escape.
The incident saw multitudes of policemen descend on the
area and a police helicopter circling overhead.
Mngomezulu said the two men's accomplices escaped in a Toyota
bakkie.
Police recovered two handguns from the arrested men.
