'Victim' shoots robber dead

A suspected robber was shot and killed by his victim during a robbery in Bushbuckridge, Limpopo police said on Saturday.

The man (26), with three others, attacked a man who was walking with his wife from work in Marite village at about 9.00pm on Friday, said spokesperson Superintendent Moatshe Ngoepe.

After the robbers took the couple's cellphones and money, they started shooting at them.

"The couple ran for cover and the husband took out his gun and fired back, killing one of the robbers," said Ngoepe.

The other three fled and are still at large.
