Unhappy customer pulls out gun Johannesburg - Two Pakistani men were slain on Tuesday by a customer who bought a radio from their second hand goods shop in King William's Town, Eastern Cape police said. Spokesperson Thozama Solani said a customer bought a radio from the shop in Smith Street on Monday, and when he got home the radio was not functioning properly. "The suspect went to the shop on Tuesday morning to return the radio but the shop owner refused to give him a refund or an exchange for the radio", said Solani. She said the shop owner allegedly threatened him and called his friends who started attacking him in front of onlookers outside the shop, when he refused to leave. "The suspect then drew his firearm and shot the shop owner and another man," said Solani. The shop owner died on the scene, while the other man died on his way to hospital. Solani said the customer was arrested on the scene when he handed himself over to the police. "He called the police and waited on the scene," she said. The man told the police he had used his firearm in self-defence. The man was expected to appear at the King William's Town Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. |
